Something I want my children to know
Hi kiddos. This is your dad, assuming I become a dad one day. I suppose there isn’t really a high likelihood of you actually seeing this, since it’s going onto a part of the internet that will probably be gone by your day. But there is something I would like you to know before you start school, so sit still for a while and listen to daddy lecture. Here it is: It is good to work...

Today will most likely be one of those days
Where I decide I don’t like anyone. Especially tumblr people, judging from what I’ve seen on my dash so far. Don’t worry, dear friends, it will pass in time.

This is my 1000th post
In which I make turkey burgers with onions inside, and mushrooms. Fun facts: I have liked exactly 50 posts and am following exactly 100 people. I will probably not do anything on tumblr for the rest of the day because I don’t want to mess this up.

Today I came home from playing with cats at the SPCA (I met a little grey short haired named Neon whom I just adore), and walked in on my sister watching the end of HP & The Sorcerer’s Stone.  Now, this might be my Slytherin talking, but Albus Dumbledore was a jerk. He basically announces that Slytherin wins the House Cup, and then goes, “Hey, wait, we had a bunch of titchy...

My brother is, among other things: -A spiritual badass. 6AM Rosary runs. Apparently meditation on the Nativity consists of running faster. -A liturgical fashionista. Yesterday, it was, “Where’s my red shirt? I need my red shirt for Mass. Where the heck is my red shirt?”. Today, it’s “First day of Ordinary time :)” *Holds up obnoxious green t-shirt* -An...

My brother came home last night. Whenever he’s around it always does wonders for my prayer life because he’s such a spiritual badass. This morning, 6:00 AM, I hit the snooze button. My brother puts on a headlamp, shines it in my face, and starts doing Morning Prayer. By the time we’re done with that I’m almost conscious, and he goes, “Let’s go for a run. Bring...

Mee Dee: Groping the Pope: Random Trivia →
meedee396: I found out from my Grandma (yes, my Grandmother) yesterday that the Papacy has some rather strange customs. She flipped to a page in her massive Papal Anthology and pointed to a passage; within seconds we were crying. What, you might ask, is so damn funny about the Catholic Church? Well here it… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Joan This Medieval legend is considered...

Rise and Fall of the Roamin' Empire
For nearly thirty years they ruled the highway, a rowdy phalanx of leather and tobacco. All freeways led them to cathouses and roadhouses. In one day they could tear down seven-hundred miles and trash a rest stop to boot. But their wild manes turned grey and lank and their shiny golden molars went missing thanks either to barstools or passing years. Some of these Ceasars could no...

When my computer crashed a while back, I lost about 2 years worth of poetry. I thought I could get it back from a teacher who I’d sent it to, but she didn’t have very much of it. Luckily, it’s not gone forever.  Project of the day: Find and retype 20-30 pages of poetry from my hard copies and books.
